Welcome to the Travel Advice Show. We, Chris and Jerry, feel it is important that we tell a little about ourselves so you will better understand our travel experiences and credentials.
Jerry Fuller, CTC
I started traveling the world extensively when I was 17 years old and since then have been to nearly every country in the world, many of them numerous times. I’m often asked what is my favorite country to which I answer, ” I don’t have one; it depends on my mood at the time.” I do especially love Uzbekistan, Iran, Ethiopia, Botswana / Namibia, Chile, and Mongolia. I’ve been to Europe more than 250 times, but am now and have been for years, spending most of my time in what my wife calls 80th world countries: West Africa, the Congos, Tajikistan, the seldom-visited parts of China, Russia Far East, and other fantastic parts of the world. Having been on more than 85 cruises and types of water travel, I most enjoy those that are less famous, but beautiful and historic , areas of the world like Svalbard, Mekong River, Norwegian coast, remote South Pacific Islands, Indonesia, the Amazon, etc. I like to white-water and sea kayak, mountain bike and hike, and travel using a variety of travel forms such as camel across Western Sahara, driving through southern Tajikistan, third-class Moroccan bus, narrow-gauge railway to Darjeeling, overlanding through northern and central Africa, and other different types of travel. My travel styles range from having private drivers and guides, staying in five- and six-star hotels, and great food to roughing it in the Australian outback, staying in yurts, crossing the Pakistan / China border, exploring northern Canada, and climbing “Mt. Doom” in New Zealand. I even enjoyed seeing the Fly Geyser in northwestern Nevada. My travel philosophy is simple: take advantage of all types of experiences while visiting a destination. If it offers helicopter sightseeing (including chartering them), side-trips to fabulous, interesting, and remote villages, tours of the Paris sewers, cruises off northern Australia and the likes, you’ll find me doing them.
